With Islamic Influence on the Rise, Christians Need to Get Out and Vote.

Updated: 4 days ago
The year was 732 AD. The Frankish lands at Tours (otherwise known as “Poitiers”) had been invaded by the Islamic “Saracens” under the leadership of ʿAbd al-Rahman al-Ghafiqi. The Saracens had already conquered the Iberian Peninsula of Spain and Portugal and were making their way west in hopes of destroying the Church of St. Martin, the city, and the whole country of France.1 Under the bravery of Charles Martel (= Charles the Hammer), Mayor of the Palace of Austrasia, the Franks stood firm in defense of the land and defeated the Muslims.
This 8th-century battle has long since been noted as the moment Western Civilization was saved from Islam. Had they not been stopped by the bravery of Martel and his Frankish army, Islamic forces theoretically may have taken over all of Western Europe in this conquest, and likely the Americas by proxy.
The West stands today with values in pure opposition to those of the Islamic Middle East. But in the 21st century, trends documented by the Pew Research Center recognize a continual rise of Islamic influence worldwide.2 But why, exactly, is this a problem?
Let me offer a concise rundown to open your eyes to the severity of the issue:
Islam is not a peaceful religion.
To clarify our terms, this article is not speaking directly about every muslim individual, but about Islam as an ideology. What we face in 2026 is an ideological war.
Middle Eastern people aren’t the enemy. In fact, my (caucasian) husband has several close Middle Eastern friends through his business. As first-generation legal immigrants to America, they, too, recognize the dangers and consequences of Islamic religious ideology. Something many of them have worked hard to escape.
Islam fundamentally disguises itself as a religion, but operates as a political system3, one America was never founded upon.
Unlike Christianity, Islam historically began as a state. Shariah Law is a legal tradition, not confined to personal faith, under which Islamic regime operates. Islam directs it’s followers on how to worship, while also telling the state how to rule.
The KEY difference between Islam and Christianity is that Islam isn’t an evangelistic religion; it’s a conquest-based religion.
Muslims do not promote Islam by encouraging others to receive Allah the way Christians encourage others to accept Christ.
Where The Bible teaches “And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness” (2 Tim 2:24), The Quran states “Fight them until there is no more fitnah and religion is for Allah” (Quran 2:193).
Muslims seek to conquer and dominate.
And if they succeed, Islamic regime brings oppression and violence beyond anything we’ve ever experienced in America. While presented as “just another world religion,” Islam operates as a governing philosophy that directly opposes the values of the modern West.
Here are a few differences that we would see if America were to operate under Islam or become a Muslim-majority society:
Freedom of Speech: America protects our right to freedom of speech. This gives us the ability for public Christian evangelism, but also the ability for others to oppose Christ publicly, and all belief centers in between and outside of this framework. While the Constitution guarantees equal rights, due process, and individual liberty, Sharia assigns legal distinctions among individuals and bases authority on religious mandates that infringe upon freedom of speech.4
Freedom of Religion: America currently permits the construction of all church buildings. We are free to worship how we choose and believe what we believe. This stands in direct contrast to the Muslim-majority state of Saudi Arabia, for example, where the public practice of every religion other than Islam, including the construction of Christian churches, is banned. Other Muslim-majority countries do allow the construction of Christian churches, but have strong laws against the public proclamation of Christian symbols, require extensive state approval, and restrict conversion from Islam.
Oppression of Women: In America, women have equal opportunity in the workforce, creative expression, dress, and more. Compare this to the ruling Islamic government in Afghanistan, the Taliban (officially the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan), which signed into law THE LAW ON THE PROMOTION OF VIRTUE AND PREVENTION OF VICE. The SparkNotes version: A woman is required to cover her entire body and face, a woman is not allowed to sing out loud, women are not allowed to look at strange men, and if an adult woman leaves home because of some urgent need, she is duty-bound to hide her voice, face, and body. For those who argue that the Taliban is only “one extremist group,” check out this report on the latest PSL in Saudi Arabia. There is a theme.
With Islamic influence on the rise (cities such as Dearborn, Michigan, and the proposed EPIC City, TX, for example), what do we do to prevent this ideology from directly undoing the freedoms America has established in the West?

Christians, we need to be voting.
Our country gives the people the ability to show up and engage in political change.
Don’t fall for the conspiratorial “my vote won’t matter” agenda. It matters. Before God, before others, it matters. The lives of yourself, your community, and the next generation will be impacted by what we do next.
In the truthful words of Allie Beth Stuckey, “politics matter because policy matters, because people matter.”
Our introduction recapped the victorious outcome of The Battle of Tours, and how it protected us from the infiltration of Islamic ideology over 1,000 years ago. May we use even an ounce of their bravery to stand against this ideology and protect the freedom of the West through our vote.
Midterms are almost here.
PLEASE, check your voter registration + stay informed for the upcoming midterm elections in your state. I have provided easy links below so there is no excuse.
