Easter Maxxing: A Christ-Centered Resurrection Sunday Morning Guide

This whole “maxxing” trend caught me last night while I was contemplating the importance of Easter Sunday. I found myself scrolling through post after post about the best things to fill Easter baskets with, bunny-centered crafts, homemade treats, and all the things I used to love about Easter.
Things I still love about Easter, still meaningful in their place.
But I hold them differently now—secondary to what Easter, or rather, Resurrection Sunday, is truly about.
As a young girl raised in a non-Christian home, I never knew the depth of the gospel or what it meant for me—and for all of humankind. What it meant for God to send His only Son.
This year, I’ve had the privilege of attending seminary, spending hours studying the life of Christ, even walking where He walked in the Holy Land, and recognizing more and more the depths of His love.
The further my faith grows, the more my perspective on this holiday has shifted. At the same time, I deeply treasure the specialness of those nostalgic Easters growing up.
How do you hold both?
And that’s when it hit me: maxxing.
The whole purpose behind “maxxing” is to do something with maximum effort, success, or intentionality. So I decided to make a guide: how do we MAX a Christ-centered Resurrection Sunday morning—keeping the fun and holding the gratitude? And here’s what came of it…
Easter Maxxing:
Sunday Morning Edition
It’s Passion Week!!! The holy days that commemorate Jesus’ final journey to the cross and His victorious resurrection. This is the week He entered Jerusalem in triumph, cleansed the temple, spoke truth boldly to the Pharisees, and taught on the Mount of Olives. It’s the week of the Last Supper, His anguished prayers of surrender to the Father's will in Gethsemane, and His betrayal, beating, and crucifixion—where He bore the full weight of our sin.
And it all culminates in Resurrection Sunday… when He is risen.
The greatest victory in human history.
Romans 6:4, “We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
Because of Him, we rejoice. Because of Him, we have new life on earth and eternal life in heaven. Our Savior did this for the salvation of the world!!
As we head into this Sunday, I want to prepare my heart for worship and fix my eyes on what matters most.
Because while our culture calls this day “Easter,” what we’re really celebrating is the resurrection of our Savior... the victory that changed everything!
And that’s the center of it all.
Not what we wear,
not what we buy,
not how the day looks,
but Who we’re worshipping.
Still, I do love marking the day in small, tangible ways that make it feel set apart and joyful: whether that’s getting ready for church, sharing a beautiful meal, or simply slowing down to celebrate.
So, in the spirit of a Christ-centered, joy-filled Sunday, here are a few of my Easter morning favorites this year.

Skin Care
Because we all know... getting ready starts Saturday night! I'm going to bed with my full skin routine from Primally Pure. My (red) skin has been loving this simple, soothing lineup lately:
Primally Pure (Code: THISISGRACEHARVEY)
Breakfast Time
Easter morning is not the day to skip breakfast! I want to show up to church feeling nourished and energized. Throwing on some morning worship, I’m waking up a little earlier to make something special and protein-packed for me and my husband: Enter...
Eggs & Sausage
Raw Milk
Getting Dressed
You already know… Easter calls for a beautiful dress. I love reaching for something in organic cotton: light & feminine.
This year, I’m wearing a piece from Christy Dawn (such a thoughtful gift from a friend, and I truly feel so blessed to own it). If I were shopping within my usual price point, I’d be looking at brands like Pact or Quince for similar options. Amazon, Target, and even Walmart also have been getting better selections!
Following it up with accessories... I have been eyeing some pieces from Natan Gives lately. Christ centered jewelry to top of the look.
Makeup
I keep my makeup light and fresh. Just a little something that enhances my natural features while adding a soft, joyful glow (especially fitting for Easter!). Here’s my go-to clean makeup lineup:
A'Del Natural Cosmetics (Code: BEATTHECULTURE)
Primally Pure (Code: THISISGRACEHARVEY)
What's in My Bag
Before heading out the door, I've gotta pack my bag!
I love bringing a few study tools to stay extra engaged in the sermon:
Garden Highlighters from The Daily Grace Co. (Code: GRACEHARVEY)
It turns church into such a rich, focused time in the Word... which is important, because it's so easy to wander off mentally!
I'll also toss in my BKR water bottle & Zebra Lip Gloss. The essentials.
Heading to Church
And we’re off.
Walking into church with a nourished body, a prepared heart, and a spirit ready to worship. Dressed in a way that reflects joy and reverence, but most importantly, centered on Christ.
I’m reminding myself to prioritize praise and thanksgiving, to practice the “one anothers” in fellowship, and to fully enter into worship as we celebrate His death and resurrection.
Headed to church with a nourished body, dressed to the glory of God, and my heart prepared for worship. Ready to take on the day celebrating Jesus!
My greatest prayer on the drive over is that, today and every day, I would prioritize a heart of praise and thanksgiving, practice the “one anothers” as I fellowship with the saints, and fully worship my God and King.
I hope this Easter Sunday morning guide gave you some thoughtful reflection and helpful links! Love you all, and I’m so happy to rejoice with you… He has risen! He has risen indeed.
Keep beating the culture!!
Love, Grace
